By now you've heard that skin cancer is the most common
form of cancer in the U.S., and have probably also heard
(maybe ignored) warnings about the sun. Now might be a
good time to listen.
A paper on a new study that appears in the March 2010 issue
of Archives of Dermatology , the skin cancer theme issue,
finds that nonmelanoma skin cancers appear to be on the
rise in the U.S.
According to the research, in 2006, an estimated 3.5 million
nonmelanoma skin cancers were diagnosed in the United States.

Yet another reason to make vitamin D a part
of your diet. Researchers out of the Intermountain
Medical Center Heart Institute in Utah cite
two new studies that found vitamin D supplementation
may well cut the risk of heart disease, as
well as a host of other chronic conditions.
The findings suggest that taking supplements
of this vital nutrient might be a viable treatment
option
for many people, especially those with deficiencies.
"
Vitamin D replacement therapy has long been
associated with reducing the risk of fractures
and diseases of the bone," says study author
Dr. J. Brent Muhlestein. "
But our findings show that vitamin D could
have far greater implications in the treatment
and reduction of cardiovascular disease and
other chronic conditions than we previously
thought."
Worryingly three out of every four American
teens and adults have vitamin D levels below
what is needed for optimal health.

D is and how you can increase yours go here:
