11 Unexpected Energy Zappers That Can Rob You Of Energy...
Dear Reader,
We all feel run down at times... long stressful days or a few sleepless nights can certainly take their toll. But if you feel drained and dragging all the time, it makes sense to look at some common things that might be robbing you of energy. How many of these apply to you?
1. Sugar gives you quick energy, but after the pick up, you fall hard
and need more. One way to combat this is to have the right types of foods with you so you aren't tempted by what's around you. A snack with 1 to 2 ounces of protein will keep your blood sugar level for a few hours, combined with a complex carb for the quick boost of energy you need now. Try...
- Whole grain crackers with low-fat cheese
- Whole grain crackers and pop-top can of water packed tuna/chicken
- Fresh fruit or a small box of raisins and low-fat cheese
- Half a lean turkey/chicken sandwich
- Plain, nonfat yogurt mixed with fruit or all-fruit jam
2. Caffeine can leave you tired, but wired... especially if you need sleep but try to put it off with a bit of caffeine. You keep throwing off your natural wake/sleep cycle and this does incredible, though silent, damage to the body. Try to choose decaffeinated varieties of your favorite drinks and be sure to cut back on the chocolate, which also contains caffeine.
3. Exercising too little or too much can cause energy loss. Not exercising means you don't give your body the chance to be energized physically, mentally and emotionally... we're naturally more sluggish the less active we are. But just as too little is trouble, too much not only depletes our stores of energy, it breaks down muscle and ends up making us weaker, not stronger. Overdoing a workout also suppresses your immune system, and this makes you less able to resist bacterial and viral infection, leaving you even more drained.
4. Dehydration comes when you don't drink enough water for your body's
needs. Water is essential for flushing out toxins, keeping tissues hydrated and our energy levels high. It's a perfect no calorie drink that can be dressed up with citrus slices or a sprig of mint. You can also try...
- 100% fruit juices
- Nonfat milk
- Unsweetened tea (herbal or decaf)
- Seltzer water with a bit of juice or slice of fruit
- Homemade lemonade
- Coffee (decaf with skim milk and artificial sweetener) that can be iced when
it's hot, drunk warm when it's cold.
5. Lack of sleep seems obvious, but when you're tired it's hard to think
of anything, much less the obvious. Not getting a good night's sleep all the time makes it more likely that you're being kept awake by stress and anxiety, illness, overstuffed schedules, caffeine, alcohol, stimulant medications (diet pills, cold/allergy remedies, asthma meds), depression or anger, even fear. To get the rest you need, you need to work on your natural sleep patterns. Try...
Getting up and going to bed at the same time every day, even on weekends, holidays and while on vacation, and avoid naps unless you take one regularly.
Create a ritual for going to sleep, keep the room you sleep in quiet, dark and cool. Get into bed only when you're sleepy and do nothing else there except sleep.
Keep a worry notebook where you list all your worries - put them all down the left hand side of the page, and on the right side, what you might do to ease these worries.
Resist temptation like alcohol, tobacco and caffeine, all of which can interfere with sleep.
6. Attitude - a bad one will suck the life out of you. If you change your attitude, your energy level, feelings, responses, outlook and perspective will also change. This one rather simple choice can truly change your life. You begin to attract favor, opportunities, people and all manner of wonderful things into your path.
7. Clutter and lack of organization can make you feel lethargic and out
of energy... not to mention impacting how optimistic you feel. Looking for lost/misplaced things is a constant drain. Trying to remember where things are, while fighting through a long to do list is an exhausting mental strain. Try to...
Find a place for everything, and always put things there. So your car keys always hang on the hook by the door, or your phone and wallet are always on your dresser.
Make a short, daily "to do" list, work off the list, doing most critical task first, then move on to the next. Keep going back to the list until everything is checked off.
Divide a big task into smaller ones... much easier to face and to manage, they also give you a genuine sense of accomplishment and help you work in a more manageable way toward your goal.
Take action... even if you can only impact one area... do that. Set a timer for 20 minutes and get started. You'll be amazed how quickly things can really get done.
See projects through - don't put the mail down until you've gone through it, even if you have to stand over the shredder/trash basket and sort in there.
Keep only the things around you that you see as beautiful and uplifting, sort through the rest and let go of things you no longer love or have ties with. This is making space for all the things you DO want to have around so that you can see and enjoy them.
8. Not enough food can leave you feeling drained, so if you're on a diet that severely restricts calories for a long time, your body will feel the need to go into "starvation mode"... your metabolism will slow and your energy level will be next to nothing. Be sure you know your recommended caloric intake based on your age, weight and level of activity and stick to that. Sensible, slow weight loss is best. Be sure you eat enough calories at regular intervals during the day - something small every 2-3 hours.

11 Unexpected Energy Zappers That Can Rob You Of Energy... Continued...
9. Stress, a close cousin to anxiety can rapidly deplete your energy
reserves. You need to try to communicate, compromise and solve problems.
You can also try to cope by meditating, talking a walk, deep breathing as well
as journaling about the top stressors of your day. By putting thoughts on paper,
you're giving your brain permission to be finished with them... at least for
now.
10. Lack of self-esteem seems an odd addition to the list, but
if you're spending all your time pleasing other people, this can be a huge energy
drain. It takes a lot of energy to wear a mask for all the world to see... so
that you are liked and well regarded. This is exhausting and leaves you feeling
so powerless. Here's what you can do...
Get to know yourself, who are you and what makes you tick.
Don't waste time making comparisons to how you feel on the inside, and how others
look on the outside. Shift your focus to your own self... be more whole by having
your inside match your outside and check in with yourself during the day so that
you're aware of how you are feeling.
Affirm your own worth by replacing negative self-talk with positive statements.
These affirmations should be made in the present tense as if they've already
been achieved - I make a difference. I am worthy and deserving.
Battle jealousy by not focusing on what you don't have, but appreciate the gifts
you do have in your life. Jealousy is one of the most negative of energies and
brings only more scarcity and lack. Gratitude with joy and love is a far better
feeling.
Learn to love and accept you, just as you are, knowing that you're worthy and
deserving of the best... as we all are. Remember, we teach others how to treat
us by how we treat ourselves... so be good to yourself.
11. Saying "yes" when you wish you'd said "no" is a huge energy drainer. If
most of your time is spent on activities that deplete you, you need to look at
where your energy is being spent. Try...
- Quality time with the kids, friends, family, pets
- Reading good books
- Prayer
- Eating a healthy diet
- Date night with your spouse
- Focusing on the positive
- Expressing gratitude
-
Massages
- Celebrating special moments
To your good health,

P.S: Nike...Ebay...Amazon and Walmart pay for your opinion
Fortune 500 companies make their money by people like you and I buying their products.
But how do they know what we want to buy? Easy they pay to find out the products we like, where we shop and what we buy.
In a nutshell big businesses need people to tell them what products to make.
People like Michelle McAllister - a 34 year old full-time mother of two. Michelle and many others help "big business" make millions, although they haven't got any marketing or sales experience.
In fact Michelle knows absolutely nothing about business, but she does know what she likes...
And that's exactly the information these companies are after and will pay you for.
