The Right Amount For Perfect Health
Dear Reader,
Staying healthy is a goal that everyone wants to achieve, but we recognize that diseases like diabetes, infertility, obesity and even Alzheimer's are unavoidable in our modern world, though they were unheard of until a few hundred years ago. While it's true that no one is going to get sick from eating small amounts of sugar, cereal grain, soy and industrial seed oil, consuming them in large, excessive amounts like we all do today does significantly raise your risk of disease.
Here's some good advice on attaining good health.
Drink Coffee; Five cups a day stimulates you immune system. So if you like it, enjoy. With an average cup about 80 mg, following the recommendations give you 400 mg of caffeine a day. Larger doses, over 500 mg a day can cause muscle tremors, anxiety and even insomnia. An option is to use Arabica beans as they offer less caffeine without a loss of flavor.
Sleep Enough: Seven hours (6.5 to 7.5 counts too) of sleep a day gives your body enough rest and the ability to produce growth hormones, repair muscle and refresh brain function. During sleep your body produces cells that fight infection, inflammation and stress. But if you sleep too much, say over 9 hours a day, a recent study saw that men who did this were 43% more likely to be diagnosed with heart disease then those who slept less, the recommended seven hours. Hypersomnia (oversleeping) can slow your metabolism to a crawl.
Eat Smart: 5g of protein with every meal is enough to build muscle and help regulate your metabolism. The total amount you need is determined by body weight, and two times this amount can strain your renal system, causing kidney stones. You want to keep protein to 15-20% of your daily calories and drink lots of water to flush your kidneys. The ideal time for dinner is between 5:00 and 8:00 pm, and you should avoid late night snacks as they often interfere with your sleep.
Drink Water: Debate continues, but work in the American Journal of Epidemiology finds that men who drink 5 glasses of water each day have a 54% lower risk of heart disease. Water keeps the body at the right temperature, remove toxins that are the result of metabolism and quenches thirst without calories or additives. Excessive drinking, three times or more the 3.5 liters recommended over a short period can bring on hyponatremia, which causes low salt levels, swelling of the brain and can result in coma.

Have Sex: 3 times a week cuts cardio problems because it encourages better oxygenation
and a healthier heart. Having sex less than once a week ups the chances of erectile
dysfunction. Even here you can get too much of a good thing. Having sex 20 times
per month (or more) in your 20s has been shown to bring a raised risk of prostate
cancer in your 50s.
Avoid toxins, these are refined flour, industrial seed oils, sugar (can you say high fructose corn syrup?) and processed soy that are a part of many foods we eat all the time. Bread, pastries, muffins, cookies, crackers, as well as drinks like soda and fruit juice are loaded with these substances. Fast foods and convenience foods are rich sources as well. When the majority of what you eat is toxic, you can see why your health might suffer.
Stop taking risks, which means have safer sex, stop binge drinking or quit altogether, stop smoking and beat any drug addiction you have. Sounds so easy to say these things, but you know full well that they are not good for you body. If you want to stay healthy in the years to come, you need to make behavior changes now. Get help if you need it, it's never, ever too late.
To your good health,
